2007-2008 REPORT
With reports of a global recession coupled with Louisiana ranking first among States on the poverty list, the Opelousas Office of Community Development is constantly reviewing and implementing its plan for economic development.
Mayor Cravins has identified public transportation; affordable housing; business development; education and neighborhood planning groups as significant initiatives that will directly affect planned growth in Opelousas.
The overall intent of Community Development is to engage Opelousas citizens in these initiatives presented by Mayor Donald Cravins for The City of Opelousas.
