ADMINISTRATION
The government for the City of Opelousas is comprised of the Mayor who oversees and manages the day-to-day functions and operations of the City and the City Council which serves as the legislative arm of the City.
Office of the Mayor
The Office of the Mayor is responsible for the effective administration and operation of all municipal services for the City of Opelousas. In addition, the office oversees all redevelopment and economic development. The Mayor also tracks the progress of various projects, monitors the day-to-day activities of city departments and maintains intergovernmental relationships with the federal, state and other local governments.
