Vacancies are posted on the City’s bulletin board, job service, colleges, and T.H. Harris Technical School, giving instructions for filing applications, minimum requirements of the job, job description, and the deadline for filing applications.  When the City is seeking to fill most department head position, these are advertised in various newspapers when there is a need to advertise outside the City for available candidates.
