Celebrate "Fat Tuesday" at the annual parade on Mardi Gras day, sponsored by Krewe of Frank's. The parade strolls down Landry Street at 11 a.m.
Opelousas Spice and Music Festival

Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival 
Start with Zydeco breakfast in downtown Opelousas, then experience the "Joire de vivre" (joy of life) of Louisiana's premiere outdoor "LALA" (dance house) in nearby Plaisance. Held the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
