Opelousas Spice & Music Festival Receives LAFF Award for Best Festival Poster

(Baton Rouge, LA) - The Opelousas Spice & Music Festival was recently honored with a Marketing Award as Best Poster – Festival Division I title for the 2009 festival season by the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals.  The award was presented during the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals annual conference held Feb. 24-27, 2010 in Baton Rouge. The poster was designed by local artist and St. Landry Parish Art Instructor, Jerome Ford.

In addition, Spice & Music Festival Pageant volunteer, Elizabeth Landry, was also selected as Volunteer of the Year by the LA Association of Fairs & Festivals.  The Louisiana Association of Fairs & Festivals is a nonprofit organization which helps to promote the value and importance of fairs and festivals in the state.
 
The 2010 Spice & Music Festival is scheduled for the first weekend in June in downtown Opelousas at 105 N.
