North City Park has the following amenities:

Swimming Pool

Pool hours:  First Monday in June till first Saturday in August, Sunday - Saturday, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.  Includes a baby wading pool.

North Park Large Pavilion

Covered picnic sheds with picnic benches and a large bar-b-que pit.  Can accommodate from 50 to 75 people.  Available for rental seven days a week at a fee of $100.00* per day.  A $25.00* damage deposit is required upon reserving.  Deposits are refundable if there is no damage after reserved function.

North Park Civic Center

Able to hold 270 people.  Has a full kitchen, table and chairs, and two restrooms that are handicap equipped.  It is available for rental seven days a week for a fee of $350.00* per day.  A $25.00* damage deposit is required upon reserving.  Deposits are refundable if there is no damage after reserved function.

NOTE:  Above fees must be paid by money order.  Prices subject to change.

Handicapped Accessible Playground

Handicap accessible playground equipment has recently been added to both North City Park.

All handicapped accessible playground equipment is located in a locked fenced in area (for safety measures).  Keys are available through the Opelousas Parks and Recreation Office located in South City Park or through the Opelousas Police Department.  Parents of children with disabilities who utilize the Handicapped Accessible Playground Area can request a key (to keep).
