20. Watkins-Saizan Home, c. 1888

Built by Dr. Joseph Saizan, this home featured the first indoor bathroom in Opelousas. Restorations and additions through the years include closing in the front gallery for bedroom purposes. Many beautiful panels of cut glass are found around the home as well as frescoes and gingerbread work. The home is bound by an original wrought iron gateway.
