Opelousas Cultural District
Designated by the State of Louisiana, the mission of the Opelousas Cultural District is to work in partnership with city and parish agencies to enhance and promote cultural heritage using the arts and history as developmental tools to stimulate economic development.
The Opelousas Cultural District includes attractions such as Le Vieux Village Heritage Park, Louisiana Orphan Train Museum, The Delta Grand Theatre, Opelousas Museum & Interpretive Center, Historic Courthouse Square, Jim Bowie Oak, Hope Hook and Ladder Fire Museum, public art, music and art events and a host of specialty restaurants.
The boundaries for the Opelousas Cultural District are the same as area one of the Opelousas Historic District.
