(Opelousas, LA) — Families are invited to celebrate the Halloween season at the City of Opelousas’ annual Trick or Treat Trail on Saturday, October 31, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at South City Park. Presented by Opelousas Tourism and Opelousas Parks & Recreation, this free community event provides a fun, safe, and family-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treating.
Children ages 12 and under are encouraged to dress in their favorite costumes and make their way along the trail, where they can collect candy, enjoy festive activities, and experience plenty of Halloween excitement in a secure setting.
Local businesses, organizations, and community groups will line the trail, distributing treats and engaging with young attendees. In addition to trick-or-treating, families can enjoy train rides, a petting zoo, themed photo opportunities, and lively Monster Mash music throughout the event.
Participation is free for businesses and organizations, with one simple requirement: provide treats for the children attending the event. The Trick or Treat Trail continues to be a favorite community tradition, bringing families together for an afternoon of seasonal fun.
Mayor Julius Alsandor and the Opelousas City Council are proud to support events that strengthen community connections and create memorable experiences for local families. The success of the Trick or Treat Trail is made possible through the generosity and involvement of local businesses, organizations, and civic groups.
