(Opelousas, LA) – The City of Opelousas has its own personalized version of the classic board game Monopoly. A project by the Opelousas Tricentennial Commission, Opelousas-opoly replaces the Hasbro board game with local landmarks, organizations and businesses. The board game includes history about the city.

The limited edition board game is supported by local businesses and organizations benefiting projects related to the City’s Tricentennial which happens in 2020.

Over 30 local groups and businesses are sponsors for the game and their logos or other information can be found on the board. They range from restaurants to banks and car dealerships and financial offices.

The Cincinnati-based producer of the Opelousas board game, Late for the Sky, has made similar games for other cities across the country, including New Orleans and Slidell.
