Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Multiple Areas in Opelousas

Opelousas, LA (April 29, 2025) – The City of Opelousas is pleased to announce that the boil water advisory has been lifted for the following areas, effective immediately:

  • Residents and businesses located in the areas of Live Oak Street, Bocage Street, London Drive, Judson Walsh, and Ducharme Road.
  • From Laurent Street going south including Mistroit Street and sections of East Truman Street.
  • Ballard Lane, from Laurent Street to Jefferson Street.
  • I-49 Service Road South from Laurent Street to Janice Street including Jackson Street and Janice Street.

Water quality tests have confirmed that the water in these areas is now safe for consumption and meets all regulatory standards. Residents and businesses in these areas may resume normal water usage without boiling.

Continued Advisory for Park Vista Area: Please note that the Park Vista area remains under a boil water advisory while final work is completed on the Sewer Improvement Project. We will notify the public as soon as it is safe to lift the advisory in this area.
