Students Participate in Art Exhibit at Opelousas Museum

(Opelousas, LA) –  Over 70 students participated in a student art exhibit held at the Opelousas Museum and Interpretive Center this month.  During the Opening Reception of the exhibit held Tuesday, May 14,  all participating students received an award from Mayor Alsandor.  The art show was coordinated by Delores Guillory, Museum Director and Jerome Ford, St. Landry Parish Talented Visual Arts Program Teacher.  CLECO was the event sponsor.

The Talented Visual Arts Program is an educational program for students identified as talented in visual arts and enrolled in the St. Landry Parish Public School System. This program is available at every public school in grades 1st through 6th.  Also participating in the art exhibit were students from Lafayette Parish.
