Important Update for City of Opelousas Utility Customers
Opelousas, LA – The City of Opelousas is currently undergoing a significant upgrade to our utility billing system to improve service and efficiency for all our residents. As part of this process, we have transitioned to a new system provided by i3 Verticals. Unfortunately, during the transfer of billing data from our previous vendor, we encountered discrepancies that may have resulted in incorrect billing statements being issued.
We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused. We are committed to ensuring that all accounts are accurate and reflective of the correct billing amounts. To address this issue, revised bills will be issued and delivered next week.
To provide further support to our customers, all late fees and disconnections for Cycle 1, which have already been mailed, will be waived until the next billing cycle. This is to ensure that no resident is unfairly penalized due to these technical issues.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to complete this transition smoothly and efficiently. The City of Opelousas is dedicated to providing reliable and transparent services, and we are making every effort to resolve these issues promptly.
