The Opelousas Police Department and the City of Opelousas are pleased to announce preparations are underway for the 30th Annual Creole Festival Parade, scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all participants and spectators, crews have begun deploying barricades along the parade route. The parade will proceed along E. Landry St., starting at Wallior St. and heading west to Union St. It will then turn north on Union St. and disband at the intersection of N. Union St., N. Main St., and Prudhomme Ln.
The public is asked to be mindful of these barricades and to exercise caution when traveling in the area. Those not participating in or attending the parade are encouraged to plan alternate routes between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on November 3rd.
In an effort to minimize post-parade cleanup, temporary trash containers will be strategically placed along the route for convenient disposal.
The Opelousas Police Department and the City of Opelousas extend their gratitude to the St. Landry Parish Government and its employees for their invaluable assistance in preparing for this community celebration.
