LA – The City of Opelousas Tourism Office is excited to announce that the Opelousas Children’s Christmas Parade will once again light up downtown on Thursday, December 12th, at 6 p.m. This beloved tradition has been bringing holiday cheer to our community for over 50 years!
The parade will kick off at the eastern entrance of the city at Landry Street near Le Vieux Village and will make its way west through downtown, concluding at the intersection of Landry and Bullard Streets.
This year’s parade promises to be more spectacular than ever, featuring colorfully lit floats, lively marching bands, enthusiastic community organizations, energetic dance groups, and, of course, the star of the show, Santa Claus himself!
Participation Details:
- Large Units (18-wheeler, motor home, party barge, etc.): $75
- Small Trailers: $50
- Cars or Pickups: $25
- Sponsored Decorated Lighted Floats: $800
To join in the festivities, please submit your parade registration forms by Friday, December 6, 2024. Forms can be dropped off at either the Opelousas Tourist Information Center at Le Vieux Village located at 828 East Landry Street or Opelousas City Hall located at 105 North Main Street or mailed to Opelousas Tourism at 828 East Landry Street, Opelousas, LA 70570.
